The proof is in the pudding! (Or rather the study!) Dharma Yoga (the style i teach,) is a blend of Hatha and Raja. For those unfamiliar with Raja Yoga it means, ‘a yoga discipline that consists of eight stages leading to self-realization and liberation,” according to Webster. (The eight stages are also known as the eight limbs.)
This study shows clearly the difference between just toning, stretching, working out the body vs. practicing yoga. It emphasizes the fact that the physical benefits we receive from yoga are only a small piece of the pie!
